HIS HOLINESS CONSECRATED KAVUMBHAGOM CHURCH NEAR THIRUVALLA
PATHANAMTHITTA, Oct. 24, 2008: The Holy Mooron Consecration of the renovated St. George’s Syrian Orthodox Church at Kavumbhagom, near Thiruvalla, has been done by Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka-I Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch & All the East, on Thursday, 23rd October evening. His Beatitude the Catholicos, Metropolitans Mor Koorilos Geevarghese of Niranam diocese, the visiting Metropolitans, Metropolitans of Kollam, Thumpamon, Kochi, Kottayam, Knanaya, Patriarchal Churches, Idukki, Calicut, Kandanad, Angamali and Thrissur, a large number of clergy and a lhundreds of laity were present during the occasion,
Earlier the Syrian Orthodox Church head was received to the church by the faithful who came from near and far. The Patriarch had also elevated the St. George Syrian church to the status of a cathedral on the occasion.
