* The author, a member of the Syriac Orthodox Church, is the retired head of the department of Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University (Baselious College, Kottayam, Kerala). He was the Nominee of the Govt. of India on the Board of Governors of the Deemed University and Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIFEL) in Hyderabad, State of Andhra Pradesh, India. Presently he is a student of Theology in the ‘Mar Thoma Vidya Nikethan'.
