First time in the history of the Holy Syriac Orthodox Church, Patriarch (His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II) addressed the faithful of Malankara in their own language 'Malayalam" almost 5 Minutes during the Enthronement. His Holiness promised to work for the peace in Malankara. 
 
Translation of the Malayalam ( vernacular language of the Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite) Christians in India )speech of HH Moran Mor Ignatius Ephrem II , Patriarch of Antioch and the East addressing the faithful in India :     "My beloved His Beatitude Catholicose (Basilios Thomas I) , bishops , priests and laity of Malankara (India).You have an esteemed place in my heart .I appreciate your vigor in overcoming the obstacles and safeguarding the Apostolic traditions.I understand your sacrifice and suffering.I will endeavor in all ways to bring peace and reconciliation .The Church (Syriac Orthodox ) in Malankara is like my mother .You should take care to safeguard the faith traditions as shown by the ancient fathers.You should try to respond to the needs of modernity , without deviating from the traditions."   (Translation courtesy: Apu Jose)
