The first holy Qurbono was celebrated in a temporary chapel established here on 12th July 1959 by the patriarchal delegate Mor Julius Elias. The foundation stone for the new church was laid by Mor Julius. On completion, the church was consecrated by Mor Philoxionos Paulose (late Catholics Mor Baselios Paulose II).
